Pagan Celebrants

The High Priests and High Priestess of Hunter Pagans are available for many Pagan ceremonies in and around the Hunter Valley. They can offer any Pagan, regardless of the Pagan path followed, the following services:

• Funerals - at graveside, funeral home chapel, or other suitable venue;
• Naming Ceremonies
• Affirmation Ceremonies
• Handfasting Ceremonies*
• Other Pagan ritual or ceremony
• ‘Confessional’ services**

* The handfasting ceremony is not a legal marriage ceremony. If you require a legal marriage in addition to a Pagan handfasting ceremony then our HP/HPS can work with a civil marriage celebrant so that both a handfasting and legal marriage can be performed at the same time. This civil celebrant can be someone of your choice, or someone chosen by us.

** Although Pagan beliefs do not usually incorporate confessions, in the sense that most people understand confessions to mean, it is conceivable that a Pagan, having committed a misdeed (either deliberately or by accident), may wish to seek guidance from someone of equal faith or beliefs, or may simply have the need to discuss these actions with someone in confidence. All UPCoA clergy are bound by an oath of confidentiality and, in addition, in NSW all clergy are protected by law from having to disclose the contents of any confession, or even the existence of any confession. Hunter Pagans clergy are therefore able to offer a “confession” service for any Pagan.

Generally Hunter Pagans does not charge any fee for these services, other than the actual costs for our HP/HPS to attend and return home (e.g. fuel, meals, accomodation if necessary). Obviously if meals (and accomodation if needed) can be provided by you then these will not incur any costs so only fuel expenses will be required. We do however welcome donations if you are financially able and wish to make a small contribution. Where certificates are required (e.g. naming certificate, etc) then a very small fee to cover printing costs (usually under $5) may also be payable, however this will be discussed before any ceremony is conducted so you know in advance what costs will be involved. Obviously we are unable to influence the costs of a civil marriage celebrant so we advise that you 'shop around' if you need these services.

Our entire aim is to provide affordable Pagan religious celebrants so that Pagans of the region can enjoy a real Pagan ceremony rather than having to change their preferences to suit a non-Pagan celebrant. This can be particularly significant for funerals where not many options are available outside of mainstream religions or straight civil celebrants. If you have a very limited budget then please contact us to discuss possible options. We all know how it is to struggle financially and we are not providing celebrants to make profit, so we can always find a solution suitable to all circumstances and financial positions.
